Echeverias are flowering succulents which are evergreen or deciduous and form in rosettes. You can identify Echeverias by their compact rosettes of fleshy leaves. The leaves often have bright colours making them popular for arrangements, terrariums and as house plants.
Echeverias are used to hot and sunny environments having originated from semi-desert areas of Central and South America and Mexico. Water sparingly but don't allow the leaves to wrinkle. Overwatering can lead to rotting roots so make sure to use a soil with good drainage.
Echeverias can be propogated by leaf cuttings.
Popular varieties of Echeverias are Echeveria nodulosa, Echeveria Fireball and Echeveria agavoides (also known as Urbinia obscura).
