Faucaria is a genus of succulents with unusual tooth-edged leaves, leading to species common names such as Tiger jaws and Cat jaws. There are 6 species within the genus, the most common being Faucaria felina.
Faucaria form in clumps of rosettes with light-green leaves. They are small plants around 8cm in diamter with thick triangular leaves. They produce golden yellow flowers in the centre of the rosette, often for several weeks at a time.
Faucaria can be propogated by cuttings or seeds. They tend to be easy to grow, especially in pots. They need good drainage and some shade in summer. Water more frequently during the growing period. Avoid heavy frost.
